Q: What is HYOX ?
A: HYOX is a device which splits water (Chemical Formula H2O) into its two gas elements, Hydrogen and Oxygen,
ionizes the gas molecules and mixes them into the air intake of a vehicle engine,
or any combustion process.
Q: Is this a new technology ?
A: No and Yes. An overview, a brief description of the electrolysis of water, its history, scientific pioneers etc.

Breaking News
A modern application of the scientific principles of electrolysis (to augment vehicle ICE combustion efficiency)
were first registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark office by its inventor,
in September, 1985. During that same period, several HYOX device prototypes were designed and tested.
The inventor submitted HYOX to the U.S. National Institute of Standards for technical evaluation.
Continued testing under a variety of operating conditions proved the effectiveness of the device.
The inventor, acutely aware of the long term environmental impact of using fossil fuels,
and understanding the negative economic effects of continually rising fuel costs, decided that the technology
promised enormous public benefit and in 1985 placed the basic HYOX system design into the free
public domain.
Q: What is the benefit of HYOX ?
A: By enriching the intake air with Hydrogen and Oxygen, the combustion of gasoline inside the engine is much
more robust and efficient. This results in more engine power output for the amount of gasoline used.
The net result is that the vehicle can go more miles per gallon (MPG) on a tank of gas.

Q: What do the engineering experts say ?
A: HYOX is essentially an on-board, on-demand Hydrogen fuel enhancement / injection system with enhanced oxygenization.
Highly qualified engineers, chemists, physicists and manufacturers have, and still are evaluating/improving this technology.

Q: How does improving the air mixture affect the engine ?
A: Adding Hydrogen to the air mixture provides additional (clean) fuel
for the engine to burn (like the sun).
Additional Oxygen in the air mixture allows more complete combustion.
Less Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide in the incoming air mixture = less harmful Nitrous Oxide & Carbon Monoxide / Dioxide
emissions from combustion. Under these circumstances the engine is better able to reach its peak performance level.
Q: What about the thermodynamics ?
A: The laws of thermodynamics are immutable. The deeper question for the
internal combustion engine (ICU)
is the
stoichemistry
and
equivalence ratio involved in the fuel mixture. This is what dramatically affects the usable vs wasted power ratio.
Stated more simply, less energy wasted in the formation and control of hazardous combustion byproducts.
No energy is gained or lost, but we have more kinetic energy, and lower undesirable exhaust emissions.

LENR / CANR (March 24, 2009)
Q: What about overall efficiency ?
A: All gasoline refineries add
oxygenates to the raw gasoline to improve combustion efficiency.
Oxygenates were initially employed (and still are) to help mitigate the automobile exhaust pollution problem.
Good examples of common oxygenates are Ethanol and
MTBE.
(Most certainly, a better fuel mixture (more oxygen) going into combustion will result in better combustion efficiency)
Great concept, except that unfortunately, many oxygenates can have some
negative environmental impact.
All oxygenates in use today require manufacture (by oil companies) or manufacture by ethanol plants, and others and
require distribution (within the gasoline) resulting in a
significant economic and environmental penalty.
HYOX on the other hand, adds Oxygen gas (the purest oxygenator there is) and Hydrogen gas (the purest fuel there is),
from water (the most abundant resource there is), on demand (no manufacturing or distribution needed)
and improves combustion efficiency in the process, providing significant economic and environmental benefit.
View the efficiency formula from this simple math perspective:
+ Pure Oxygen gas and Hydrogen gas (add to combustion equation)
- less Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide (subtract from combustion equation)
+ gasoline or other hydrocarbon going into combustion (a constant we have for now)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
= less unburned carbon fuel, less harmful Nitrous Oxide & Carbon Oxides, lower emissions
+ better fuel efficiency and higher engine performance level
Q: Isn't Hydrogen dangerous ?
A: Hydrogen accumulated in a large quantity or in compressed gas or liquid form can be dangerous.
Hydrogen on-demand is NOT dangerous.
Hydrogen is not toxic. The same is true of Oxygen. We continually breathe these gasses. Both occur naturally.
Hydrogen does not ignite as readily as gasoline, diesel and other fuels
(higher ignition temperature of hydrogen)
Hydrogen burns with a lower temperature than both gasoline and diesel.
All Hydrogen and Oxygen generated by HYOX are used immediately (only produced when engine is running).
No special handling or safety gear is needed using uncompressed (on-demand) quantities of these gasses.
Check out this study comparing
Hydrogen vs Gasoline safety.
Unlike gasoline, diesel, methane, propane, ethanol etc., releasing Hydrogen and Oxygen into the atmosphere is harmless.
Q: Doesn't HYOX require power to split water into Hydrogen and Oxygen components ?
A: Yes. Consider these factors after starting your vehicle:
a) The
alternator is running and producing more than enough electricity for spark, lights, air etc.
a) Much energy being produced by the engine is wasted through excess heat and unburned hydrocarbons.
b) Your radiator, fan, water pump, catalytic converter and exhaust system work full time to dispose of this.
d) HYOX uses some of the otherwise unused electricity & heat to split water into Hydrogen and Oxygen.
d) This conversion improves the quality of the input fuel mixture resulting in a net less energy waste.
Q: Will extra Hydrogen and Oxygen confuse the Engine Control Module (ECM / ECU) built into my vehicle ?
A: The ECM / ECU are smart, computerized devices interfaced to multiple engine input/output sensors and conditions.
An effective & comprehensive device will precisely interact with engine hardware to closely control combustion.
A modern ECM / ECU can actually optimize combustion even better as it recognizes the enhanced HYOX fuel/air
mixture going in and the reduced emissions in the exhaust.
Q: How does HYOX affect the vehicle warranty ?
A: HYOX has no effect on the vehicle warranty. No engine or power train modifications are made or needed.
All HYOX components are easily clipped on or off in minutes, without special tools or mechanical skills.
Q: Why do systems which use electrolysis, vary so widely in cost ?
A: There is absolutely no technical or performance reason for this disparity in prices. Careful analysis by the
consumer will show that the exorbitant prices charged by some manufacturers are simply unreasonable.
Anyone who takes the time to evaluate the price-performance of the HYOX system will confirm this.
Don't be misled by exaggerated marketing claims. Hydrogen and Oxygen are essentially free fuels.
The minimal equipment needed to produce these fuels from plain water is very simple and low cost (HYOX).
Q: How come vehicle manufacturers don’t include this technology in their vehicles already ?
A: We have been working on this.
HYOX was registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Office in September of 1985.
Proposals were submitted to Ford, General Motors, Chrysler and Caterpillar for their consideration.
Each company responded essentially the same way - we are considering this. (now they are getting serious)
Many large companies unfortunately, move very slowly and historically are resistant to change and innovation.
More public lobbying / pressure is needed to make this change occur promptly.
Q: But now, with dependence on foreign oil, and instability in fuel prices, shouldn't we be looking very closely at these types of alternatives ?
A: Yes. Please think about the following ...
We (the public) have been entirely too slow in demanding better fuel economy.
The federal government is currently spending many billions of dollars on 'other' priorities.
Through our combined neglect we are now suffering environmental pollution and global consequences.
Notice that all vehicle manufacturers worldwide are just now beginning to provide hybrid fuel models.
However, most people cannot spend many thousands of hard earned dollars on a new hybrid vehicle.
Hydrogen and Oxygen are the most abundant, non-polluting, and free resource elements available on earth.
Q: What are we waiting for ?
A: Do it now. Use the HYOX technology today. Take advantage of the knowledge and resources at hand.
HYOX is a risk free investment that returns significant benefits right away, and continues to do so.
HYOX is easily installed by the do-it-yourself person or any garage mechanic.
Measure your MPG before and after you have it installed. You will be amazed.
